A Special Night for Rowena Lodge No. 3180 – The Installation of Worshipful Master Bro. Austyn

On Wednesday, 15th October 2025, the Brethren of Rowena Lodge No. 3180, meeting at Freemasons’ Hall, Knole Road, Bournemouth, gathered for a truly memorable Installation Ceremony. The evening marked the installation of Bro. Austyn as Worshipful Master of Rowena Lodge — a moment of deep pride and significance for both him and the Lodge.
A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition
The event was conducted in accordance with Masonic custom, and the atmosphere within the Bournemouth temple was one of warmth, unity, and fraternity. The ceremony was attended by a strong number of Rowena Lodge members, along with visiting Brethren from Lodges across Bournemouth, Poole, and Dorset, all of whom came to show their support for Bro. Austyn on this special occasion.

Under the careful direction of the Installing Master and Officers of the Lodge, the ceremony was carried out with great dignity and precision. It was a fine example of Freemasonry’s timeless traditions being upheld and celebrated in the heart of Bournemouth.
A Personal and Emotional Connection
This Installation held particular poignancy for Bro. Austyn, as his late father had also been a respected member of Rowena Lodge No. 3180. To take the Chair of the Lodge his father once supported is an honour few could experience, and the emotion of that connection was felt by all present. The Brethren joined together in celebration of not only a new chapter for the Lodge but also the enduring bonds of family, friendship, and Masonic brotherhood.
A Night to Remember
Following the formalities, the Brethren retired to the Festive Board, where a convivial atmosphere prevailed. Laughter, fellowship, and fine toasts filled the evening — the perfect conclusion to a ceremony that reminded everyone of what makes Freemasonry in Bournemouth and Poole so special.

As Rowena Lodge No. 3180 looks ahead to the coming year under the leadership of Worshipful Master Bro. Austyn, the Lodge continues to uphold the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth that define our Craft.
